Climate Change Agreements
In April 2001 the Government introduced The Climate Change Levy (CCL) to encourage improved energy efficiency and reduced greenhouse gas emissions for all non-domestic users in the UK. The Climate Change Levy (CCL) is a charge on energy usage in industry, commerce and the public sector and provides a financial incentive for businesses to use less energy.
By signing a Climate Change Agreement with the Government, energy intensive companies in certain sectors can receive an 80% discount on their levy. In return, they must meet challenging targets for reducing their energy use. Bowman Riley Architects provide a coordinated range of specialist services to assist our clients in achieving their energy reduction targets.
