Dr Joanne Harrison – Heritage Consultant & Architect

Dr Joanne Harrison is a chartered architect and academic researcher with over 20 years of experience in helping construction professionals deliver high-quality heritage projects that are informed by research incorporating architectural, historical and social insights.

With specialisms in historic building conservation and sustainable design, Joanne is currently studying towards a PhD in Conservation Studies.

With an impressive portfolio of projects across residential, education, civic, commercial and retail sectors, Joanne is experienced in engaging with professionals and communities alike to build productive and collaborative working relationships that are focused on finding creative solutions to complex problems.

Joanne holds voluntary positions as a planning sub-committee member of the Wakefield Civic Society, a panel member of Healthwatch Wakefield and a leader of walking tours for Heritage Open Days.

Away from work, Joanne’s life revolves mainly around her two daughters with lots of family days out to historic sites.  She plays the piano, has an allotment and keeps chickens.
