Rae Smith – Mid-Level Interior Designer
BA (Hons) Interior Design & Architecture, British Institute of Interior Design
Rae Smith joined Bowman Riley in 2026 as a mid-level Interior Designer, bringing a versatile design background shaped by work across the hospitality, education, and residential sectors. Known for her thoughtful approach to materials, texture, and spatial experience, Rae combines creativity with a strong understanding of how interiors perform in real-world settings.
She studied at the University of Huddersfield’s School of Interiors and Architecture, where an early internship sparked her professional journey. Rae then moved into a graduate role in Harrogate, contributing to projects including The Cut & Craft and Leeds Private Hospital, experiences that refined her technical skills and deepened her appreciation for detail-led design.
Rae later joined an architecture practice in Nottingham, playing a key role in establishing the interior design division in its Leeds office. During this time, she expanded her portfolio into public-sector and education projects, developing strong project management expertise and taking ownership of her own clients and schemes.
Most recently, Rae has worked on a range of high-end residential developments across Manchester, London, Edinburgh, and Madrid. Her portfolio includes the Valdebebas Apartments & Residences, featured in Spanish Vogue, as well as new schemes in Manchester’s Deansgate tower district, projects that reflect her ability to deliver sophisticated, contemporary interiors at scale.
