Construction Begins on North York Moors National Park New Headquarters
Construction is now underway on the new headquarters for the North York Moors National Park Authority, marking a significant milestone for a project that Bowman Riley has been proud to support over the past several years.
Appointed as architect, interior designer and principal designer, Bowman Riley has designed a purpose-built headquarters in Helmsley that will bring together the Authority’s operations into a single, modern workplace. The new two-storey building will provide a collaborative and efficient working environment for staff, while supporting the Authority’s important role in conserving and enhancing one of the UK’s most treasured national parks.
Working alongside Dudleys Consulting Engineers, the design has been carefully developed to respond sensitively to its unique setting. Contemporary architecture is combined with materials and detailing inspired by the local vernacular, creating a building that complements the surrounding landscape while delivering a high-quality, sustainable workplace.
Our interior design team has created welcoming, flexible and functional spaces that encourage collaboration, promote staff wellbeing and support modern ways of working. The interior has been designed to reflect the Authority’s values, providing an environment that is both practical and inspiring.
Following the successful completion of site preparation works, main contractor OGL Construction has now commenced foundation works, with the new headquarters expected to be completed in 2027.
This important civic project represents a long-term investment in the future of the North York Moors National Park Authority and the communities it serves.
