Thornhills Gardens Vision Document – Brighouse, West Yorkshire

Thornhills Gardens Vision Document – Brighouse, West Yorkshire

Bowman Riley partnered with Evans Property Group, England Homes and the planning consultancy, Quod, to create a vision document for Thornhills Garden Suburb, a major proposed residential-led development on the edge of Brighouse

Spanning more than 140 hectares, the scheme has the potential to deliver around 2,140 homes, new schools, community facilities, employment space, transport infrastructure and more than 40 hectares of public open space.

A development of this scale required a document capable of communicating a complex story clearly and compellingly. Bowman Riley brought together planning, architectural and technical information from multiple disciplines, transforming a vast body of specialist evidence into a clear and persuasive narrative.

Working closely with the project team, we structured the document to guide readers through the site’s opportunities, constraints and design evolution. Editorial design, mapping, diagrams, masterplans and visual storytelling made complex subjects, including housing need, infrastructure, ecology and landscape, accessible to planners, investors and other key stakeholders.

The result of the vision document is a clear and engaging communication tool that brings together technical evidence, design thinking and long-term vision, helping stakeholders understand the scale, opportunity and potential of Thornhills Garden Suburb.
