Bowman Riley’s Charity Wainwright Weekender ⛰️
Last weekend, colleagues at Bowman Riley ventured to the Lake District in a quest to tick off as many Wainwright walks as possible in one weekend, all in aid of Cancer Research UK. Through our efforts, we have raised a total of £1,524 so far. As of writing this article, the JustGiving page is still open if you would like to contribute.
This is a charity with a lot of meaning to us; last year, we sadly lost a dear colleague and friend, Steve McDonald, to the disease. We are incredibly proud of the amount raised, and knowing it will contribute towards vital cancer research makes the achievement even more meaningful.
Through the often wet and wild conditions, we ticked off a whopping 122 Wainwrights across 48 hours with 56 Bowman Riley colleagues and friends participating. We walked an incredible total of 237 miles, gaining 24,500ft of elevation between us.
A huge thank you to everyone who took part, donated and cheered us on from afar. Every step taken and every pound raised helps support vital cancer research and honours Steve’s memory in a meaningful way.
