Team Cultural Trip 2026: Cologne

A weekend of exploring, experiencing and enjoying Cologne together

Our 2026 cultural trip took the Bowman Riley team to Cologne, Germany, for a weekend packed with culture, adventure, good food and plenty of laughs.

From the moment we arrived, Cologne gave us plenty to explore. Some of our team took to two wheels, hopping on scooters and heading through the city to the park, taking in the sights along the way. We also experienced the sheer scale and majesty of Cologne Cathedral, one of the city’s most iconic landmarks and an impressive piece of medieval architecture.

There was plenty of culture beyond the city streets, too. On the first evening, we took in some sporting action with an exciting ice hockey game. The following morning, we discovered the story of chocolate at the Chocolate Museum and as the sun began to set, we took to the Rhine for a sunset river cruise, seeing Cologne from a completely different perspective.

Of course, no trip to Germany would be complete without sampling some traditional food and drink. From local specialities to a few well-earned drinks, there was plenty of opportunity to experience the tastes and atmosphere of Cologne – and perhaps put our knowledge of the German language to the test along the way!

But while the sights, experiences and food made the trip memorable, it was the time spent together that really made it special.

Away from our desks and day-to-day work, the trip gave colleagues the chance to get to know each other in a different setting. New friendships were forged, existing ones strengthened and plenty of memories were made along the way.

Our cultural trips are an important part of Bowman Riley life – giving our people the opportunity to experience new places and cultures while spending quality time together as a team.

Cologne 2026 was certainly one to remember.
