Beth Hodson – Head of Building Consultancy

In 2026, Beth Hodson took on the role of Head of Building Consultancy at Bowman Riley, responsible for leading a talented team of building consultants, driving successful projects, and expanding the firm’s portfolio with new and exciting work.

A Chartered Building Surveyor, Beth is widely recognised for her exceptional work ethic, dedication to clients, and commitment to advancing carbon reduction across the built environment.

Beth’s surveying career reached a major milestone in 2023 when she achieved her Chartered Surveyor status, successfully navigating the demanding Assessment of Professional Competence (APC). Since then, she has led a diverse range of building surveying projects for high-profile clients, including North Yorkshire Council and York College, demonstrating her technical expertise.

Continuing to build her credentials, Beth became a Level 4 Non-Domestic Energy Assessor, enabling her to deliver detailed energy performance assessments for complex buildings and ensure compliance with the latest energy efficiency standards.

Beth’s journey with Bowman Riley began in 2020 as a Graduate Building Surveyor, following six years in residential property management, during which she honed her skills overseeing property portfolios and maintaining high standards of building performance.

Beyond her day-to-day work, Beth is active in the wider industry: she chairs the Northern branch of The Access Association and serves on the Yorkshire & North East branch of Women in Property, championing inclusion and accessibility in the built environment.

Outside of work, Beth enjoys exploring the countryside with her miniature schnauzer, discovering new destinations, and curling up with a good book.
