Loki Kumar – Architectural Assistant Part II

BArch (India) MArch Architectural Design (UK)
Loki Kumar joined Bowman Riley in 2025, bringing a strong international background and a design-led approach to architectural practice. Originally trained in India, she holds a Bachelor of Architecture (BArch) and worked as a registered architect before moving to the UK to complete a Master of Architecture in Architectural Design at the University of Nottingham, graduating with Merit.
During her Master’s, she completed an internship with Lathams in Derby, where she worked on a wide range of projects focused on conservation and urban mixed-use design. This experience deepened her interest in placemaking and heritage-led regeneration.
Prior to joining Bowman Riley, Loki worked as a freelance architectural designer and later as an Architectural 3D Visualiser, contributing to high-profile retail projects, including design visualisation for Adidas. These roles enhanced her ability to communicate design ideas through imagery, which she brings to concept development and client presentations.
She is passionate about architectural competitions and design thinking. One highlight is being ranked in the Top 50 worldwide in the Volume Zero “Women’s Pavilion” competition. She enjoys exploring narrative-driven architecture and is particularly drawn to projects that combine social value with expressive form.
Outside of work, she enjoys sketching, painting, and cooking. She sees creativity as something that crosses disciplines and draws inspiration from cultural experiences, travel, and everyday urban life.
