Celebrating the Opening of The Bostock Building at Springfield Mills

It was a proud moment this week as the new Gaunts Ltd Bostock Building at Springfield Mills was officially opened, marking the completion of a £4 million commercial development designed by our Leeds team.

The new building delivers eight high-quality hybrid commercial units across two floors, providing flexible workshop and office accommodation designed to support modern businesses. As the first new development on the site in more than 70 years, it represents an exciting milestone in the continued evolution of Springfield Mills.

The project has been delivered through strong collaboration among Yorkshire-based partners, including contractor OGL Construction®, project manager Shelby Group, and the architectural team at Bowman Riley. Guests were invited to explore two of the completed units and learn more about the development, with the opportunity to meet the project team and discuss the vision behind the scheme.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony was carried out by Christine Bostock, widow of former Managing Director and Chairman John Bostock, after whom the building is named as a tribute to his legacy. John Bostock had the vision to keep Gaunts thriving when other mill sites declined in late 20th century through commercial development.

The event brought together more than 50 guests, including members of the Bostock family, representatives from Gaunts Ltd, the project team, local councillors, business owners and tenants from across the mill community.

Once final internal works are complete, the new units will be available to let and are already generating strong interest from businesses seeking flexible, high-quality workspace.

Congratulations to everyone involved in bringing this important project from concept to completion. 👏
