The Bostock Building, Springfield Mills – Leeds

Bowman Riley designed the Bostock Building, a £4 million development at Springfield Mills in Leeds, delivering eight high-quality commercial/industrial hybrid units designed to meet the needs of modern businesses.

The building represents the first new commercial development on the site in more than 70 years. The design responds to growing demand from local and regional businesses for flexible workspace that supports both production and administrative functions within a single unit.

Arranged across two floors, the scheme provides flexible accommodation combining workshop space with integrated office areas, supporting companies that require adaptable, light-filled work environments.

Each unit has been designed to maximise natural light, space and flexibility, enabling occupiers to adapt the layout to suit their operational needs. The development also complements the historic character of the wider mill complex through the use of stone masonry to while introducing contemporary, high-quality workspace that supports future business growth.

The project was delivered through a collaborative team including contractor OGL Construction and project manager Shelby Group, working closely with client Gaunts.

The Bostock Building was officially opened in February 2026. The completed development provides a new generation of flexible space at Springfield Mills, supporting the continued evolution of the historic site.
