Viridien Visualisation Lounge – Crawley

Following our refurbishment of their reception, Viridien sought to create a visualisation lounge, which acts as a breakout space where visitors could relax, catch up and refuel after presentations. The brief was to design a space with its own identity while maintaining a visual and spatial connection to the newly completed reception.

Bowman Riley achieved this by removing two internal rooms to open the floorplate, transforming the area into a welcoming, open-plan environment. The new space was designed to accommodate a variety of functions, including secure storage for client belongings, a counter for food service, and a mix of seating options, including standard dining, high tables, and lounge seating.

With no natural light, we added warmth and life using timber finishes, contrasting organic and geometric shapes and patterns, preserved moss, and live plants. After photography, we styled the space with framed nature images for visual interest. Since the space was intended for respite, no digital screens were included.

The design continues the neutral base tones of the reception, complemented by bold, bright colours. Patterned fabrics and wallpaper energise the space and promote collaboration and community. A preserved moss feature flows into a wave of illuminated timber fins, reflecting our client’s technological focus and sustainable values. This feature creates a strong visual impact and reinforces the identity of the space and the brand.

Viridien has received overwhelmingly positive feedback from their clients and their staff about the visualisation lounge. When not in use for client events, the space is regularly used by staff from across the office wings as a collaborative hub.
