Darren Bush celebrates 35 Years at Bowman Riley
We are delighted to mark an incredible milestone as Darren Bush celebrates 35 years with Bowman Riley.
Darren joined the practice in 1991, shortly before qualifying as an architect, and over the past three and a half decades has played a significant role in shaping both the practice and our long-standing relationships with some of our most valued clients.
Beginning his career specialising in the retail and petroleum sectors, Darren quickly established a reputation for delivering high-quality projects and building trusted client partnerships. His expertise led to his appointment as an Associate before he was appointed a Director in 2005, taking responsibility for the Wm Morrison Supermarkets account.
For more than two decades, Darren successfully led the Wm Morrison framework, overseeing the delivery of hundreds of projects across the UK. His commitment to client service, careful resource planning, and collaborative leadership helped establish Bowman Riley as a trusted partner to Morrisons, delivering projects safely, efficiently and to the highest standards.
Alongside this, Darren has also led our long-standing relationship with Esso, further strengthening Bowman Riley’s reputation within the petroleum sector. As the energy market has evolved, Darren has been instrumental in expanding our expertise beyond traditional fuel infrastructure into alternative fuels and electric vehicle charging. Under his leadership, the team has delivered numerous projects for leading energy providers, including Gridserve’s flagship Electric Forecourts, helping to support the UK’s transition to a lower-carbon future.
Throughout his career, Darren has championed effective communication, teamwork and meticulous project management. His leadership has consistently focused on managing risk, prioritising health and safety, coordinating complex phased projects and delivering practical, sustainable design solutions that meet the fast-paced demands of the retail and energy sectors.
Perhaps even more importantly, Darren has been a valued colleague, mentor and leader within Bowman Riley. His calm approach, wealth of technical knowledge and unwavering commitment to both clients and colleagues have helped develop countless team members and contributed significantly to the success of the practice.
