Land Rover Experience North Yorkshire opens at Coniston Estate 🚙
Bowman Riley is proud to have designed the new Land Rover Experience North Yorkshire Centre at the Coniston Hotel and Estate, bringing the official Land Rover off-road driving experience back to its original home in the Yorkshire Dales.
This latest North Yorkshire architecture project combines the sensitive refurbishment of a vacant historic estate building with a new purpose-built facility, creating a modern destination that supports the continued growth of Land Rover Experience.
The former Falconry Centre, vacant for several years, has been transformed into a welcoming customer facility. Bowman Riley retained the existing building while introducing a new entrance and glazed curtain wall, opening views across the surrounding landscape.
A new timber-clad workshop and storage building provides the operational facilities needed to support the centre, with its design and materials reflecting the agricultural character of the Coniston Estate.
The new Land Rover Experience offers customers the opportunity to experience the Yorkshire Dales from behind the wheel, with off-road driving across challenging terrain, including steep climbs, descents, water crossings and rocky sections.
The centre also provides Young Off-Roader experiences for 11–17-year-olds, as well as professional driver training for organisations, including emergency services and utilities.
For Coniston Estate, the project brings a previously vacant building back into productive use, strengthens its visitor offer and creates a new commercial opportunity.
