This time, we meet Emma Black, a senior interior designer who joined the Bowman Riley team in 2019.
Can you describe Bowman Riley in 3 words?
Collaborative, Community, Inclusive
What’s been your career highlight to date?
Delivering the first two projects I was lead designer on from start to finish both completing on site within a few weeks of each other and were both in their own way very complex. (Bean Loved and Chorley Building Society)
Have you got any new personal goals for 2026?
Honestly, relax and take time for me during my maternity leave. After gaining my promotion and renovating a second house I am looking forwards to some well needed rest. Although, with a newborn I’m not sure how much rest there will be!
Which of our values resonates the most with you and why?
Excellence, nothing is with doing by half, I always design with purpose and longevity in mind.
What advice would you give someone entering our industry?
Work experience is key to learning and developing and stay curious, you don’t know what you don’t know!
What’s your favourite holiday destination?
Holiday what’s that? I went on my first cruise, and I loved the aspect of travelling but having a home base!

The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived – Taylor Swift (That is an impossible question, and it changes daily, but it will always be Taylor!)
