Bowman Riley is pleased to announce that members of our healthcare team, April Marsden, James Barnes, and Monika Lulczynska, will be attending the IHEEM Healthcare Estates Conference & Exhibition in Manchester in October 2025. We are excited about this opportunity to engage with the latest thinking, innovations and networking in the healthcare built‑environment sector.
What is IHEEM / Healthcare Estates?
IHEEM’s Healthcare Estates is the flagship annual event for professionals involved in the design, engineering, management and operation of healthcare facilities in the UK.
For 2025, the conference and exhibition will run on 21–22 October 2025 at Manchester Central.
IHEEM describe this as a key gathering of NHS, industry, academic and design stakeholders, bringing together over 200 exhibitors and a multi‑stream conference programme with more than 25 hours of content.
The overarching theme for 2025 is “Prevention Is Better Than Cure,” which focuses attention on proactive, resilient, and future‑proof approaches to healthcare infrastructure.
What Bowman Riley Hopes to Get from IHEEM
Our team is looking forward to absorbing current trends, benchmarking best practice, and forming new connections across the sector. In particular: April Marsden will be active in attending fringe events and meeting up with industry contacts to deepen relationships with James Barnes and Monika Lulczynska will focus on seminar streams linked to digital health, compliance, and sustainable design approaches
What to Watch Out for at the Event
Here are some of the highlights our team is watching: workshops around “Prevention Is Better Than Cure”, and how estates can proactively support patient outcomes, sessions on digital innovation and smart hospitals, presentations on compliance, governance, and ensuring safety and resilience in healthcare infrastructure, exhibitor stands demonstrating new materials, systems, energy & sustainability solutions, and engineering technologies and fringe networking and informal meetups.
