Shortlisted at The Yorkshires Residential Real Estate Awards 2025

We are delighted to announce that two of our residential projects – Craven Barn and Spring Meadow – have been shortlisted for the 2025 Yorkshires Residential Real Estate Awards. It’s a real honour to be recognised alongside so many outstanding schemes, and we could not be prouder of the teams, partners, and clients involved.

Craven Barn is a stunning conversion of a redundant agricultural barn into a contemporary family home, seamlessly blending the old and the new. The design retains the essence of the original structure while introducing modern spatial solutions — including a dramatic double-height entrance, extensive glazing, and a calm, neutral interior layered with textures and bespoke joinery.

Sustainability was integral to the design, with a strong emphasis on reclaimed materials and energy-efficient detailing. The result is a home that’s both architecturally striking and warm, rooted in place while offering all the comforts of modern living.

Craven Barn exemplifies what we aim to achieve in residential design: respectful of history and place, yet entirely fit for modern living.

Spring Meadow is a groundbreaking new development in Drighlington, Leeds, where we are supporting PureHaus in delivering 20 new-build Passive Houses — a blueprint for ultra-low energy, healthy homes at scale.

The homes exceed Passive House standards, achieving air-tightness levels well beyond the benchmark and 78% less embodied carbon than the RIBA 2011 ‘business-as-usual’ benchmark, 1,000% better performance than standard building regulations and ultra-low running costs for homeowners.

Recognition at The Yorkshires Residential Real Estate Awards means a lot to us — it’s not just about the design, but the real-world impact these homes have on people, place, and planet. Whether we’re repurposing historic structures or setting new standards in sustainable design, Bowman Riley continues to push boundaries in residential architecture.

We’ll be at New Dock Hall in Leeds on 8 October 2025 for the awards ceremony — and we’re proud to stand alongside many of Yorkshire’s best.

Fingers crossed — and thank you to everyone who made these projects possible.
