Planning Submitted for Harrogate Town AFC New Training Facility
Bowman Riley is proud to continue to support Harrogate Town Football Club with proposals for a new, purpose-built football training facility, following the submission of a planning application for a site in Wetherby, Leeds.
The proposed development will provide a much-needed, centralised training base for the Club’s Men’s First Team, Women’s Team, Centre for Excellence and Emerging Talent Centre, bringing together teams that currently train across multiple locations.
The scheme includes a new clubhouse alongside a combination of artificial and natural grass pitches. Designed to meet both elite sporting and community needs, the facility will also support the Club’s Community Foundation activities and be available for use by local schools and sports clubs.
By helping to address a shortfall in artificial grass pitches in this part of Leeds, the development will deliver wider benefits beyond the Club, reinforcing Harrogate Town AFC’s role at the heart of its community.
The project is being progressed on behalf of Harrogate Town AFC in partnership with Wetherby Racecourse, a key regional sporting venue. Income generated by the training facility will support ongoing investment at the racecourse, helping to ensure the long-term sustainability of both organisations.
Bowman Riley is working as part of a collaborative consultant team led by DPP, alongside Struct-Sure, Brooks Ecological and SLR Consulting.
